About RAZED:

Tattoo artist Keelie Jessup can handle that someone else has claimed the man of her dreams. She’s just not pleased with her remaining options…

Keelie doesn’t believe in the “perfect man.” But the men who are worth the trouble are usually taken—like her business partner Zach Barnes. After a string of bad luck and the lost chance with Zach, Keelie decides that maybe flying solo—and living with suppressed desires—is the key to happiness.

As a photographer, Zane Barnes has an eye for the human form, and his eyes can’t get enough of Keelie’s curves. Unfortunately, Keelie is like most women—always fawning over his little brother, Zach. Zane is about ready to give up, but then a few stolen moments at his brother's wedding have him thinking maybe there's a chance there after all. Now he just has to prove that the perfect man does exist...for her.

EXCERPT:
Humiliation burned in her.
Rejection turned her blood to ice while her skin shrank down about two sizes too small.
She wanted to sink into the floorboards, turn into something thin and vaporous so she could just disappear.
Pushing against his chest, she focused on the navy blue polo.  “Then how about you let me go, huh?  My mistake.”
The hand on her throat didn’t move.
It should have felt threatening.
But the feel of him touching her just made her melt that much more…and it was now a heavy ache inside because he—
His lips brushed her ear.
“You want to know what I want from you?” he asked, the words velvet, stroking over her like a caress.
Keelie closed her hands into fists to keep from reaching for him. He was messing with her.  It pissed her off—and, to her disgust, it hurt.  It almost felt like a betrayal, too, because she hadn’t expected to see this in Zane.
“Back off,” she warned, putting an edge into her voice and preparing herself to make him back off.  So what if he had some moves on him?  He hadn’t seen her moves yet.  Not really.
“I want…” He slid his hand down from her throat, to rest on her chest, fingers spread wide where it rested above her heart.  “This.”
The simplicity of the gesture stunned her into passivity.
She held still as he lifted his head and stared down at her.
She blinked, not moving, as he continued to stand there, his hand on her chest.  “I want five minutes of your time…over a cup of coffee.  An hour for lunch.  I want you to pick up the phone when I call, talk with me for a while,” he said, staring into her eyes while the blue-green of his gaze cut into her.
Then he leaned in and pressed a hot, open-mouthed kiss to her chest, just above the neckline of her sweater.  “I want to peel your clothes away, learn each and every one of these insanely sexy tattoos…each tattoo, and the reason behind them.  I want to know what makes you laugh, and I want to know what makes you mad.  I want to know what sort of book you’re reading whenever I’m in the office—I’ve asked, but you always toss it down when I walk by and you never answer me.”
His breath was a caress on her flesh and she broke out into goosebumps.
Her heart raced in her chest and she couldn’t even begin to understand why there was a knot in her chest.

Also in the Barnes Brothers series: WRECKED by Shiloh Walker!

ARC Review: How to Handle a Heartbreaker by Marie Harte

It’s lust-at-first-sight when Brody Singer first sees Abby Dunn. Abby looks a lot like a woman he once knew, one who died years ago. But Abby’s definitely different—shyer but sexier.

Abby’s still trying to put her last disastrous relationship behind her and overcome the flaws her ex wouldn’t let her forget. But somehow Brody isn’t getting the hint. It doesn’t help that when writing her steamy novels, she keeps casting Brody as the hero.

Only Abby can write her own ending—will she choose her own happily-ever-after, or stay safe in her shell?

Review:

This is the second book in the series and I have to say the series is getting better and better. Who would have thought a bunch of bothers could be so sizzling hot!! I want each and everyone one of them!! They aren't only just hot but incredibly talented in what they do and realistic. The chemistry between Brody and Abby is off the charts. I loved how they began to be so open with each other as the story progresses.

Harte once again brings you another enjoyable read that any romance reader would enjoy. She has a way in describing each character perfectly. Abby is likeable which is a surprise since in the first book I was a little unsure if I would end up liking her in her own book. Brody is sexy and has serious issues with his real family, but when him and Abby get together its more then just steamy but emotional for them both.

I honestly couldn't put this steamy read down even for one minute. This book has me dying for the next hot brother to see what he brings to the table for brotherly love and of course the hotness.

I wouldn't suggest reading this without reading the first book in the series The Troublemaker Next Door first which is out now.

Ms. Harte you have done it again!! Keep the boys coming because I want them all!!!

MASQUERADE excerpt

I’ve never been the type of person who sits around and dwells on life. Bad things happen all the time and overthinking them has never done shit to change anything. I remember when I went back home—or to the place I should consider home—I didn’t really understand what was going on. At thirteen I should have, but people who are kidnapped are supposed to have been hurt. They’re mistreated and locked away. They aren’t happy and loved the way I had been, so the whole thing was hard to wrap my head around.

For about a week after they sent me home, that’s all I thought about. The people who raised me and the people who lost me. How they both loved me even though I didn’t know quite how to feel about any of them. Didn’t know how I felt about that screwed up word love at all. Rex and Melody had always told me they’d loved me but now I knew they’d stolen me. My real parents said they loved me but they didn’t really know me. I wasn’t their little girl anymore. How can you love someone you don’t know?

It hurt and I cried, my chest feeling hollow and broken, knowing I should feel so many things I didn’t know how to.

            Nothing changed.

I didn’t hurt any less. My real family was still broken-hearted and confused, and I’d lost who I considered my mom and dad.

That’s when I decided I wouldn’t lose myself in the past anymore. I wouldn’t stress and dwell on things I couldn’t change or even things I could, because if I made that decision the first time, there was a reason. I would stick with my choices, even when someone didn’t get them or I got shit for being closed off or hard. And I wouldn’t worry about love or try to figure it out.

Girls aren’t allowed to feel that way, I guess.

This is why I’m pissed that I haven’t stopped thinking about Maddox since he walked out of Masquerade.

Excerpt:
“A guy like Walsh has the world in the palm of his hand. He needs a woman who knows what to do with it. That’s Sofie. They aren’t people who can marry just anybody.”

Not just anybody, and certainly not a nobody. Remember that, little girl, Kerris told herself. He’s out of your league. He’s gorgeous. He’s been groomed to charm birds from trees. He flies all over the world, rescuing orphans just like you.

There were a million reasons why she had responded to Walsh Bennett the way she had. And a million reasons why she should avoid him. She would spend the whole summer making sure she didn’t forget that.

Excerpt:
Grace tightened her hold on Jack Junior, who wriggled in her arms. “Baby, don’t . . .” She trailed off when everyone started to clap and whistle, to shout, “Welcome home!”
Her husband’s commanding presence filled the entrance to the bakery.  He stood there in his uniform, as  breath-stealingly handsome as she remembered. “Jack,” she whispered, her voice breaking under the strain of the emotion welling up inside her.
He'd looked different in the photos they’d released from Afghanistan. His wavy dark hair had been long, his strong, masculine jaw hidden behind a full beard. Now his hair was shorter, the shadow on his jaw accentuating, rather than hiding, his movie-star good looks. But his eyes were the same startling blue in his deeply tanned face as they’d always been. And now they lasered in on her.
She felt the weight of the crowd’s attention as they parted to make room for her to go to her husband. Desperate to think of something to say, uncertain what to do, a hot flush worked its way up her face.
Madison took Jack Junior from her and gave Grace a gentle nudge in her husband’s direction. She wanted to run to him, to throw herself in his arms, but there was a guarded look in his eyes that held her back.  He doesn’t remember you, she reminded herself.  He doesn’t love you.
As if Jack realized how close she was to losing her composure, sympathy darkened his eyes, and he reached her in three confident strides. He hesitated for a heartbreaking moment before drawing her into his arms.
When he did, she buried her face in the crook of his neck and breathed him in. For months she’d wrapped herself in his sweatshirts, worn them to bed, drawing comfort from the warm, spicy scent that was his and his alone, until one day that faded away, too, just like his memory of her.
A sob escaped from her parted lips, and then another. The tears she struggled to contain rolled helplessly down her cheeks.
His strong arms banded around her, his large hand moving in comforting circles on her back. “Don’t cry,” he murmured, his breath warming her ear. “It’s going to be okay.”
She wanted to believe him, wanted to believe his memory would return along with the man she’d fallen in love with. Not the one who’d left for Afghanistan seventeen months ago. Cocooned in his embrace, she pushed her doubts away. All she needed to do was show him how happy they’d once been. She nestled deeper in his arms and immediately sensed his discomfort, the stiffening of the corded muscles in his back.
Embarrassed, she pulled away and swiped at her tear-streaked face. “I’m sorry. I didn’t  mean—”
Jack Junior broke free from Madison. “No hurt my mama,” he yelled. “
"No, baby, it’s okay. They’re happy tears.” Grace knelt down, opening her arms to him. “He wasn’t . . .” Jack Junior zigzagged past her to hurl himself at his father.
