Miss Firecracker By Lorelei James

I love the McKay and West men but I was extremely interested in Blake. I finally get to read his story and it wasn't what I thought it would be.

"She’s the match, he’s the fuse…an explosive combination

One year ago Willow Gregory entered the Miss Firecracker contest on a dare—and ended up with the crown. As a working carpenter, she’s not exactly the tears-and-tiara type, and after a year of walking the straight and narrow she’s ready to cut loose.

Waking up in a sexy stranger’s bed with no memory of the havoc she wreaked the night before wasn’t quite what she had in mind. Nor was agreeing to his mandate—work for him at the tavern until she repays the damage. Or go to jail.

Blake West thinks he could possibly be the only man alive who could say no to a drunken, horny, naked beauty queen. There’s something about the former Miss Firecracker that makes him want to blow his Mr. Nice Guy persona all to hell.

It helps that Willow is ready to dive headfirst into a no-heartstrings-attached affair. Which fits in perfectly with Blake’s temporary gig managing his friend’s bar.

Every grinding kiss, every stolen touch leads to another…until a harmless little white lie becomes the detonator that could explode their chances at a happily ever after. "

Willow and Blake were utterly fantastic together. With them you already knew the out come and it would be easy. I wasn't a fan of that. Women make this men work for it. It starts out when Willow awakes in a strangers bed, but doesn't give you the insight to what had happened the night before until the story unfolds and things are explained. I would have loved to read what actually happened without other people filling in the blanks for Willow.

I also thought the story was also way too short. I mean when things are just coming into focus the story ends. Does Blake end up getting the girl? Well, of course but after he is not honest with her she gives into him. Then the end. Although, Blake is my favorite West, I wasn't to thrilled about this book all in all. I am hoping this series can pick back up and give me so much more of these hot cowboys.

Unlaced By Jaci Burton, Joey W. Hill, Denise Rossetti And Jasmine Haynes

Hot, Steamy, Sexy and Adventures is the best way to describe Unlaced. I was on the edge of my seat while involved deep in this steamy treat!

The stories were mostly about everyday people living their lives until some hot guy takes that over. I liked the fact these woman were strong, independent, and most of all memorizing. Once they knew what they wanted they took control from there. I loved that fact these stories weren't about younger woman. They are older, wiser, and can still turn up the damn heat for their men. I am for sure interested in the other authors who wrote in this book and will have to check them out. Over all it was for sure a steamy read.

Rode Hard, Put Up Wet by Lorelei James

This one I had a tough time getting into. I wasn't sure why, but it took me a lot longer then the other books. All in all Lorelei James knows how to make a scene not only steamy but passion filled. Its not just raw passion, but emotions are attached to these characters which makes it a great read.

Gemma is a widow who happens to own a ranch in Wyoming. Cash has been in love with her for years, but she was not interested. Finally she realizes she should give it a shot, I mean what could happen?. She offers him a job as foreman on her ranch. He agrees but only if it includes being in Gemma's bed. Filled with lots of hot sex. While a teenager Cash gets a woman pregnant, agree they shouldn't be married and decide to go their separate ways. Cash now gets to spend time with his 22-year-old daughter Macie. Macie comes to live on the ranch with Gemma and Cash. She’s an excellent cook and gets a job. Macie also falls in love with Carter, who is working on the ranch for the summer. Carter is an artist and wants to sculpt and paint Macie. They too have a lot of  hot sex. It made a very good side story that I caught up right in.

I’m not sure how I feel about this whole story. I think I enjoyed Carter and Macie's story much more and they weren't the main characters.  The steamy scenes were better than I thought they would be from when the book started. I think I wasn’t emotionally pulled in as much as I wanted to be like the other stories. It was still good, but it just didn't grab me like I was expecting. If your looking for a good erotic romance series I suggest you read this entire series. Lorelei James does not disappoint. It will have you panting and drooling over some of the hottest cowboys.

Since I have read all of the books in the series up to date I am dying to see who will be next in this fabulous series to have their own story.

Slow Hands by Leslie Kelly

This happened to be my first book by Leslie Kelly and I actually enjoyed it. I am looking forward to reading more of this series in the future.

Mandy Turner is not only a strong business woman but unlucky in the love department. Her older sister, Tabitha, doesn't want her fathers new wife to cheat on him, so she ends up with this master plan for Mandy to buy the guy her stepmother was supposed to buy at this charity bachelor auction. Little does Mandy know that her desires and heart will be thrown for a loop.

Jake Wallace is just a simple paramedic that is helping his chiefs wife with auctioning off himself to the highest bidder for the children fund. While backstage he sees Mandy and is utterly bewildered by her. Now can Jake bring down the walls that Mandy has put up or is he giving up the woman he has longed for..

It's an overly short book but interesting it was. It was a breath of fresh air to read about something totally different then what I am used to reading about. I loved that Mandy was strong, independent, caring and loving at times. Although she puts up this hard persona she is lovable and exciting. Jake, well, what can I say? He's a dream guy. He's not on;y patient, but funny, considerate, and at many times the romantic. It's just too bad Jake doesn't have any brothers but hey a girl can dream, right?

All Jacked Up by Lorelei James Review

I loved this book to pieces and to be honest I couldn't wait to read it.

"Pulling off the ultimate con…if they can keep from pulling off their clothes.

Keely McKay knows Jack—and Jack Donohue is a certified pain in her Wranglers. The lone girl in the prolific McKay family, Keely needs another man giving her orders like she needs a hole in her boot. What she does need is a restoration specialist so she can open her physical therapy clinic—and prove she’s left her wild-child days behind. That means dealing with buttoned-down, uptight Jack.

Jack is this close to securing a career make-or-break project, until he learns his lack of marital status puts him out of contention. When the notoriously hot-tempered and hot-bodied Keely begs him for help, he proposes a crazy idea. He’ll oversee her project—if she acts the part of his loving fiancĂ©e.

Their sizzling lust makes it all too easy to go from butting heads to knocking boots—but outside the bedroom they’re as mismatched as ever. The McKays remind Jack of the humble upbringing he left behind, and cowgirl Keely feels she doesn’t measure up to Jack’s big-city lifestyle.

When the dust settles, Jack and Keely must face the fact they’re not fooling anyone but themselves—or they’ll risk losing the real deal."

Keely is used to being queen bee in the family, but I have to say she met her match in this book. Jack is not only her match but has secretly wanted Keely all along. Going from not being able to stand each other to not being able to get enough from each other was a great story line. I loved how her family stood by her in making this choices and when her brothers happen to take matters in their hands when they think their baby sister has been hurt.

Lorelei James filled this book with not only romance, love, and devotion but also tons of witty comments. I was laughing at some of the things Keely said to Jack and his comebacks were off the charts amusing. Finding out as the series goes on about the prior characters is not only interesting but insightful. Who wouldn't want to find out more about the Mckay Family and what they have been up to.

If you haven’t read any of the previous Rough Riders series, I highly recommend them. Regardless if you read them in order or out-of-order it's not hard to keep up with these cowboys/ cowgirls and how they finally get tamed. This was a great read. It is for sure rereading material. Now off to get started on Raising Kane.

Raising Kane by Lorelei James

Lorelei James is quickly topping the charts of one of my favorite authors. Not only was Raising Kane a great treat it was emotional.

"She surrendered the reins. Now he’s raising the stakes

When a patch of ice sends attorney Ginger Paulson head-over-high-heels down a flight of stairs, she has no one to care for her young son and her invalid father. Until lethally sexy Kane McKay shows up at the hospital, determined to prove his cowboy chivalry. Past experience has inoculated her against take-charge men, but even Ginger isn’t immune to Kane’s invasive charm and Built Ford Tough body.

For two years rancher Kane McKay has followed the Little Buddies mentoring program’s cardinal rule—hands off his Little Buddy Hayden’s mama. But one look at Ginger’s bruised body and Kane is through watching the stubborn woman take care of everyone but herself. The feisty, curvy redhead needs his help, and he’ll give her the hands-on type whether she likes it or not.

After Kane throws out doctor’s orders and issues his own demands—her full sexual submission—Ginger realizes Kane’s caring nature extends beyond just fulfilling her physical needs.

Can the former hell-raiser convince the gun-shy single mom to look beyond his past…toward a shared future?"

It was about time sexy cowboy Kane stopped his wild ways and was in it to win not only Ginger but her love. From reading the previous books in the series Kane was outta control, to see him serious and in a different light was well different. Kane not only wants Ginger but wants a family.

Absolutely loved how the story came together and turned out. Not only did Kane give his all to Ginger but her family. He fit right in and made such an impact on them. Love, love, love Kane. Lorelei James wrote him perfect. I liked the fact that even in this book you could see him growing not just as a person but also a provider to prove what he wants and to make it all happen.

This series is moving up to one of my favorite series. Then to find out there are more McKay's to read about is a major plus. Now that I am caught up on this deliciously hot series I can look forward to when Cowgirls Don't Cry is finally released. I mean who doesn't wanna ride a cowboy?

Branded as Trouble

This quickly became one of my favorites in the series just a few chapters in to it. This book had a lot more laughs than the others in the series.

"It’s hard to trust the future when you’ve been branded by the past.

As a walking advertisement for the tattoo shop she’s set up in a small Wyoming town, India Ellison is well acquainted with preconceived notions. Despite the odd looks and off-color comments about her off-color hair, life is good. She’s clean and sober, dotes on her sister’s kids and, best of all, spends most of her free time with her best buddy, cowboy Colt McKay.

Reformed bad boy Colt never expected three years of sobriety to lead to three years of abstinence. Curbing his craving for booze and random sexual encounters is nothing compared to the ever-increasing craving for his hot-tempered, hot-bodied best friend, India. Too bad she’s his A.A. sponsor. Too bad she hasn’t a clue that Colt’s been head-over-bootheels in love with her from day one.

After an unexpected, steamy interlude, all India can think about is riding the sexy cowboy instead of her motorcycle, even when Colt is determined to show her a slower ride is worth the wait.

Or are they risking their friendship for a fling that could burn them both? "

Colt McKay is not only a sexy cowboy but he has this other caring side to him that I just fell in love with. I loved the interactions with Colt and his family. Neither Colt or Indy ever had a real relationship, but finding it out together was a journey all in its self. Laughter, tears, and determination cover this story. Taking time for yourselves and getting to the next level is a big step.

I was extremely happy for Colt staying sober through the hard times just in this story that threw him for a loop. Finally the family's so-called mess up finds his way and makes peace with his family. This story just had more of a real feel to it than most

I'm happy to have run across this series. At first I wasn't so sure but in reading about this family and how they all have something to prove to others and themselves was an amazing ride. Now on to the next McKay in Shoulda Been A Cowboy.

Riding Wild by Jaci Burton

I normally can't stand reading a series out-of-order because some plots are hard to follow ,but with Jaci Burton it was so easy to keep up with the sexy men of the Wild Riders.

Riding Wild was a good romance that included suspense and action. The book was fast paced and quick to read. When private investigator Lily West is hired to test the security of a museum, she is stunned to see her former high school boyfriend, Mac Canfield ride up on a motorcycle, break in to the museum, and steal an artifact. Now Mac is taking Lily along for the ride to get to the bottom of who really wants this vial. Lily allies herself with the Wild Riders and helps them to unravel and contain the circumstances surrounding the dangerous vial. Together again after ten years, Lily and Mac must also confront the feelings that they still have for one another.

This was a very adventurous book. The suspense portion made the book interesting and fast-moving. Riding Wild was very sensual, but also included a passionate romance. I look forward to reading more of Jaci Burton in the future.

Tainted by Julie Kenner

When i first saw this book I was so unsure if I could get sucked into ,but that just proved me wrong because getting sucked in wasn't the problem. The problem was putting the book down.

Lily Carlyle has died protecting her sister. Now given a second chance of life. Lily can earn her way into Paradise by becoming an assassin for the forces of good. It's the job Lily believes she can do, but she doesn't realize that she may not be able to get out. Lily has come choices to make which will she choose?

My Thoughts:

From the beginning i was really curious how this book would play out. Lily is strong and doesn't pretend to be Lily White. Since she has died protecting her sister she was given a second chance and now is making the best of the choices. Lily ends up going through some changes and getting used to this new life she was given. Now she is an assassin fighting against demons from the dark side. The book has a lot of action that made it a suspenseful read. I found myself questioning other characters in the story and wondering what was true or not because something was off. Towards the end of the book everything Lily thinks turns out to be wrong and throws you for a nail bitter loop.

I am looking forward to continuing the series for sure and so glad I decided to get this book after all. I would recommend this book to all urban fantasy fans. This might be my first Julie Kenner book, but she has gained a new fan. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series Torn.

Torn by Julie Kenner

This was a fast paced and adventurous book that I could not put down.

Lily is in trouble of the deepest kind. Having been tricked by the forces of evil , now she knows better. Having help from her temptation, Deacon Camphire, she must try to take the dark forces by becoming a double agent.

From the first book I loved how Lily was compassionate and determained to protect her and those she cares about at all costs. Now I have to say Deacon is my new favorite good/bad demon.

I would recommend reading this book along with the first book in the series, Tainted.

Now I'm off to finding out what new adventures Lily is up to in the last book, Turned.

Turned by Julie Kenner

I really enjoyed this trilogy, It picks up right away where Torn left off and is action packed for the rest of the book. I was hooked from the first page again dying to know what path Lily will choose.

The end of the world is near and it's Lily job to make everything right. With her cover as a double agent inside the forces of evil blown, Lily has no choice but to go underground. She takes along a cadre of warriors: humans, angels, demons, and other trusted creatures. Their only hope is to stop the forces who are attempting to use the Ninth gate as a wedge that will unleash the fury of Hell.

I am kinda bummed it was only a trilogy. I wanted more adventures for Lily. It seemed at the end it was left open for author to maybe have a spin-off series if it was decided. But over all this was a story for all urban fantasy readers. Julie Kenner brought the action, compassion, adventure, and a big fork in the road for her characters. I look forward to getting lost in some more reading material from this wonderful author.

Born to Bite by Lynsay Sands

First I must say Lynsay Sands has done it again!!!! A beautiful, smart vampire named Eshe is sent undercover to investigate the mysterious, but seemingly accidental deaths, of 3 wives of a well -known vampire named Armand Argeneau. Being a enforcer for the council , Eshe is torn between the possibility that Armand could be a murderer , and her growing feelings for him.

I couldn’t put the book down!! Born to Bite has a strong story line that captures you from the beginning to the end. Through out the book the suspense is nail – biting on what will Eshe and Armand will encounter next, I found myself not being able to turn the pages fast enough. While reading i found myself laughing out loud at the humor and sarcasm that Lynsay Sands has incorporated in her characters.

I would highly recommend this book. It is absolutely a wonderful treat for those who know and love the Argeneau Family. If this is your first time getting a glimpse into the world of these sexy immortals its well worth reading !!!

Demon from the Dark by Kresley Cole

Demon from the Dark is the lastest book in the popular Immortals After Dark series by Kresley Cole. Her stories are always engaging, funny and hot!!

Carrow Graie is captured by humans who are experimenting on immortals. Carrow has a choice to make to watch a young witch die or to help the humans capture Malkom Slaine. It’s not much of a choice for Carrow ,so she sets out to track out Malkom ,but she wasnt expecting to end up caring for him.

This book is filled with action, steamy romance and who can forget the magic. This book is one you wont be able to put down!! I was completely absorbed by these two main characters. The language barrier created misunderstandings and the internal thoughts of both Carrow and Malkom were at times charming.
I loved the way Kresley Cole made Carrow have such witty humor through out the book and the way Malkom tries to win her over of the short amount of time.

Cole makes her characters come alive and leads you into the paranormal world of adventure and romance.
I would recommend this book among the other Immortals after Dark books. Get ready to dive into the deep world of The Immortals after Dark!

Sin Undone by Larissa Ione

Sin is Sizzling!!!! Get ready to be sucked into the underworld …..

From the moment I opened up the book and turned to the first page I was unapproachable. I was sucked into the Demonica world with Sin and Con.

The only female Seminus demon accidentally creates a virus that sends panic throughout the underworld. Now its up to Con to bring in her in for face her punishment for this plague she started. Now bound by blood to her Con learns he is the only one who can help find a cure and save Sin’s life.
WOW!!

I loved this book !! It was packed with adventure, romance and sizzling sensuality. Larissa Ione for sure can bring the heat, wit and the hottest demons! This is a must read along with her previous books in the Domonica Series ,but Sin’s story is a favorite for me.

Riding the Night by Jaci Burton

Can I just say WOW!

This is my first book in the WIld Riders Series and I was not disappointed.
AJ & Pax are undercover government agents who decide to take a vacation back to where AJ grew up. They run into Teresa, who happens to be AJ’s High School sweetheart. A fight breaks out in Teresa’s bar between two bike groups leaving her brother wrongly accused of murder.

Jaci Burton brings exciting characters, romance, adventure, and to top it all off passion on top of passion. I couldn’t bring myself to put down this book.

After reading this book I now have to start the series from the beginning!
This book is a must read for all Jaci Burton fans and if your not one yet you will be after this hot read.

Sins of the Soul by Eve Silver

This is the second book of the Otherkin Trilogy and it centers on Alastor Krayl. Alastor is trying to find out who has murdered his youngest brother and becomes obsessed with it. A reluctant Underworld enforcer, Naphré wakes up some emotions that are new to the soul reaper, Alastor. Both are torn between duty and desire for each other.

The story is filled with wonderful details and descriptions. I enjoyed the way Eve Silver brought out her characters. They were filled with so many emotions and for me that is a plus.

This book is a faced passed page turner. I recommend reading the first book in the series prior to this one. Although they are two different books, they are of one adventure. I’m simply excited to get my hands on the last book of the trilogy, Sins of the Flesh.

Riding Temptation by Jaci Burton

WOW!! That is all I can say about this book! I have read the series out-of-order but it was easy to catch onto.

Diaz Delgado has been watching Jessie grow up into a beautiful woman. Jessie’s thrilled its Diaz who finally takes notice because he has tempted her since the first day. His unbrotherly urges have been hard to fight but the last thing he’d want to do is hurt Jessie and break up the gang. But when they both go undercover to infiltrate a group of killer survivalists, he realizes how hard it is to keep his distance from the one woman who can take him on.

Although, this is only the second book i have read in this series I absolutely loved Diaz, I am a sucker for a strong Alpha male with a soft side. Jaci Burton brought the fireworks in this book with the adventure, temptation, romance and passion.

I still can’t believe I’m just now reading this series. Jaci Burton is truly a new favorite

Riding on Instinct by Jaci Burton

Jaci Burton can bring the heat!!

Department of Justice agent Shadoe Grayson has just signed on to help the Wild Riders. The latest case is to identify a DEA rogue agent, who is helping the Colombians bring in illegal drugs. Agent Shadoe plans to go undercover as a head lining stripper but first she has to convince Spencer King that she is not the uptight woman he thinks she is. Agent Grayson not only convinces Spence that she is more than qualified for the job but leaves him wanting her body.

Spence is officially my favorite Alpha in this series. The story is fast paced, full of humor and steamy. I loved that they both had a hard childhood and found a deeper connection within each other. Over all I loved this book. The characters were fantastic and the story was so good I didn’t want it to end. If you haven’t read this hot read your missing out.

Shoulda Been A Cowboy by Lorelei James

Joy, Heartache, and Pain. If you thought the other books in the series were good, you haven't yet been on a more emotional ride.

"The bigger they are, the harder they fall—in love.

Soldier Cameron McKay has found his niche, and it ain’t ropin’ steers and wearin’ spurs. His deputy sheriff job, plus battle injuries that ended his military career, keep him right where he wants to be: Off the ranch and away from his family’s pity. His darkest war memories are on lockdown, leaving him skeptical he’ll ever find a woman who wants a man who’s less than whole.

Domini Katzinski has had to control every aspect of her life since age eleven, when she was orphaned in the Ukraine. Watching others’ relationships crumble has convinced her to focus on the short-term and find a take-charge man to whom she can relinquish total sexual control. Cam fits the bill: gorgeous, with a brooding vulnerability no one else seems to see. Plus, he has his own handcuffs.

Once Cam gets over his surprise that sweet, shy Domini wants to be dominated, he is back to issuing orders. Their passion is as hot as a rocket-propelled grenade—and if Domini has her way, it’s a one-shot deal. Cam wants more, and launches a full-out sensual assault…until tragedy strikes, forcing him to change tactics as he tries to keep past demons from blowing their future together all to hell… "

For starters this story made me emotional, yes I did end up loosing some tears. Cam and Domini were the perfect couple. Both in love with each other since the first time they met. They not only shared a few erotic moments, they end up sharing love, togetherness, and most of all passion for what they could be and would be for each other. I love how they were brought together and how they just could not get enough of each other.

This was for sure one of my favorites in the series. I was pulled into the way that being together wasn't so easy and learning to trust each other was a big step. I loved it was expressed how quickly a surly kid can put a strain on a relationship and how love, honesty and patience can get you through the next obstacle.

All I know for sure is that the McKay men sure know how to claim their women. The series is heating up so on the next McKay family journey with Keely in All Jacked Up.

Shadow Bound by Erin Kellison

I have to say I really did enjoy Shadow Bound. Erin Kellison is definitely on my must read list.

"Death
Some people will do anything to avoid it. Even trade their immortal souls for endless existence.

Wraiths
Secretly, inexorably, they are infiltrating our world, sucking the essence out of unsuspecting victims with their hideous parody of a kiss.

Segue
Adam Thorne founded the Institute to study and destroy his monster of a brother, but the key to its success is held in the pale, slender hand of a woman on the run. There is something hauntingly different about Talia O’Brien, her unknowing sensuality, her uncanny way of slipping into Shadow.

Twilight
This is the place between life and what comes after - a dark forest of fantasy, filled with beauty, peril, mystery. And Talia is about to open the door."

It was different and exciting, that I couldn't get enough. From the beginning of the book when we get the chance to meet Shadowman I was hooked. Then twenty-six year later you get to meet two people who I believe end up saving each other.

Talia is on the run and Adam ends up searching for her. I had times where I loved and absolutely hated Adam. Talia was my favorite while reading and the emotions she brought out in herself were heart breaking at times. Now the world is getting ready to be taken over by the wraiths (soul-sucking creatures) and its up to Talia and Adam to find a way to put an end to it.

While the story was enthralling, I was drawn to the growing romance between Talia and Adam. Not only were they attracted to each other immediately, but their relationship grows over time and not fast for them. It was really set at the perfect pace.

This book is filled with suspense, action, romance and of course the paranormal. I couldn't put it down due to the fact it was so different and kept me interested through every page. Their was never a dull moment.

If you want to read an original urban fantasy/ romance then this is the book for you. Readers who love paranormal romance will enjoy this suspenseful treat. I cant wait to get my hands on the next book in Shadow series, Shadow Fall.

No Mercy by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I am a big fan of the Dark Hunter series and OMG, Sherrilyn Kenyon did not disappoint in her latest release No Mercy. Hooked from start to finish and I couldn't have asked for more.

"Live fast, fight hard and, if you have to die, then take as many of your enemies with you as you can. That is the Amazon credo and it was one Samia lived and died by. Now in contemporary New Orleans, the immortal Amazon warrior is about to learn that there’s a worse evil coming to slaughter mankind than she’s ever faced before.

Shapeshifter Dev Peltier has stood guard at the front of Sanctuary for almost two hundred years and in that time, he’s seen it all. Or so he thought. Now their enemies have discovered a new source of power--one that makes a mockery of anything faced to date.

The war is on and Dev and Sam are guarding ground zero. But in order to win, they will have to break the most cardinal of all rules and pray it doesn’t unravel the universe as we know it."

The plot was amazing. It starts where Bad Moon Rising leaves off with one battle and No Mercy starts with part two of the battle, with some same key players along with some new ones that I look forward to hearing from in the future. Dev and Sam were two very strong characters that I just couldn't get enough of. They were such an amazing couple, and in reading their story, you could truly feel the emotion between the two.

Dev definitely needed a woman who could take his charm and dish it right back to him. And lucky for Dev he found that all in Sam. Sam, who is a heroine that was strong, a warrior, and to top it off she wasn't afraid to show her feelings. Their attraction to each other was instant.

No Mercy was interesting! I was glad it wasn't a simple plot it kept the book going for me. I just couldn't put it down. A little upset that I read it too fast and I couldn't make it last until the next book released but who can blame me when it comes to the yummy Dark Hunters/ Were Hunters.

I can see this book is just another stepping stone for the battle that is ready to come. You also got a look into the curse Apollo inflicted on Stryker's people and how he really felt about it. While Sam looks into how to break the curse , readers will enjoy getting new information and how things turned out for some previous characters in the series.

Overall I was left satisfied with is book. I believe everyone should enter the world of the Dark Hunters and hold on for the amazing ride Sherrilyn Kenyon has created. Now I can not wait for the next installment, Redemption, to see how this battle will play out.

Tied Up, Tied Down by Lorelei James

Hot, Sexy and Determination...

"Businesswoman Skylar Ellison is firmly in control of her life. So getting tangled up with a sexy Wyoming cowboy — and conceiving a baby in the parking lot of a honky-tonk — wasn’t in her plan. Since it appears the daddy has taken off for greener pastures, the only thing to do is pull up her bootstraps and carry on alone.

Cattle rancher Kade McKay returns home after a year on the range, and is knocked for a loop when he learns he’s the father of a three-month-old baby girl. When Skylar refuses to marry him, Kade grits his teeth, moves in and plays house by her rules to prove he’s a man in for the long haul.

Despite Skylar’s insistence they are to remain strictly parenting partners, their old passions flare hot as a brush fire, spurring Kade to demand absolute sexual surrender from the headstrong woman. Skylar willingly submits her body to the hot-blooded cowboy but she’s leery of handing Kade the reins to her heart.

Can Kade convince Skylar the wicked sex games aren’t a temporary distraction? Or will he have to bust out the ropes to show her he wants to be tied to her…forever?"

Kade starts out on the wrong foot, then finding out his is a father, Kade decides he wants it all. Sky ends up finding out the hard way that Kade is in fact not only the cowboy she not needs, but craves oh so desperately.

This story was thick with emotions. Finding out the mother of your child pretty much did this on her own while you weren't around. Then coming to find out that instead of going away to forget her, had you been home you would have been there every step of the way. Now Kade is not out only to prove he can provide for their daughter but make them last forever.

Although something was missing for me in this book, it was still an amazing rollercoster for Kade and AJ. Now on to Rough, Raw and Ready.
